They close them in the walk in freezer and Lynette tells Rick that it is 42 degrees and they will freeze to death. Rick tells her that Tom will come looking for her and Lynette tells him that he took his pill at ten and he is probably asleep. Rick gives Lynette his piece of clothes and hugs her to keep her warm.

It is seven past midnight and Tom is clearly dreaming something awful. It is half past six in the morning and Tom notices that Lynette didn’t come home last night and that everything is as he left it.
Lynette and Rick are lying on the ground in the freezer and Rick is still hugging Lynette to keep her warm. Rick asks her if she is awake and she tells him that she is. She slept a little bit and she thanks him for not letting her freeze last night. He tells her that she is the one who kept him warm. Tom walks into the pizzeria and Lynette tells him that they are in the freezer. He opens it and asks Lynette if she is all right. Lynette tells him that they were robbed and he tells her that he doesn’t care and asks her if she is all right. She tells him that she is and it was just cold. Tom tells her that he was out of his mind with worrying and Lynette tells him that the robbers demanded to give them their cell phones before they looked them in. Tom is surprised and then he realizes that Rick is inside.
Gabrielle finished shopping with Vern and Vern can’t believe that one dress could cost so much. Gabrielle tells him that she wants to look fabulous tonight when Victor is elected mayor. Vern tells her that it is bad luck to look fabulous on a victory party before the elections and Gabrielle tells him that it is never bad luck when she looks fabulous.
A policeman is writing down something on a paper because Gabrielle parked near the hydrant and the meter just expired. Gabrielle tells him that she is here now and the policeman tells her to put a quarter in, but she tells him that she is going away. Vern tells her that he went on one gay cruise and came home to find out that she is engaged to some rich politician. Gabrielle can’t wait for Vern to meet him because he is everything Gabrielle ever wanted in a man… sensitive and kind and he buys her three thousand dollar dresses and he lets her be her, a high maintenance nightmare. Vern goes away and she is about to leave but the policeman is still writing something down. She tells him to stop writing because she is leaving. He tells her that she is not leaving she was flapping her gums. Gabrielle tells him that he could have said something and he tells her that he said to put a quarter in and then calls her a "spoiled bitch". She looks at the paper and she needs to pay 40$. When she asks him if he thinks that she will pay for that he tells her that it will be the sap who bought her the three thousand dollar dress.
Carlos just woke up and he is taking his morning paper and Susan approaches him and asks him if it is true that Mike moved. Carlos tells her that it is true because he is on a little trip and then he is going east. Susan wants to know where he is but Carlos doesn’t want to say anything to her. She tells him that she wants to make it all right because Mike is the one. Susan tells him that Mike is not answering his cell and Carlos tells her that he turned it off because he wanted to clear his head. Carlos can’t tell her because of the rule bros before hoes. Susan wants him to tell her and Carlos tells her that he hiked to the Hot Springs at Pinewood Valley State forest.
Susan is all up and ready to go hunt Mike down and tells Julie that she has $40 and Susan is in a green jacket and has a pink rucksack. Julie asks her if she had thought it through and Susan tells her that if she doesn’t hunt him now on a mountain she may never see him again. Julie asks her if he will be happy to see her now after the whole I choose Ian thing, because his broken heart may have turned his once love for Susan into hatred. Susan tells her that she needs to go and make it right, to heal his broken heart.
Travers and Carlos are playing video games and Travers is kicking his ass. Carlos needs a little exercise and they want to go to batting cages on the weekend. Edie tells them that they are going to the movies and they will go to the cages on Saturday. Someone rings the door and it is Charles, Travers’ father and Edie’s ex.
Charles tells them that it was amazing in Kenya but he will have to wait until Travers is in college so then he will be able to go again. He will be taking Travers home tomorrow. Charles tells Travers that he will buy him a breakfast and he goes to his bedroom and Edie goes with him to help him dress… so Carlos and Charles are alone now. Carlos tells him that he and Edie have plans for the weekend but Charles wants to get home with Travers and Charles tells him that they can take him the next time he visits. Carlos wants to know when is that going to be and Charles tells him that he will have to check his schedule. He tells him to look on the bright side because now he will have more time alone with Edie.
Lynette, Tom, Rick and the police officer are looking at the tape from the surveillance camera and they can now see the clear shot of guys who entered the store. The police officer thinks that those are the same guys who robbed a few other restaurants. He wants to rewind the cassette and he rewinds it too much and Tom sees that Lynette and Rick are having dinner together and he is in shock. Lynette tells him that she was trying the new special and Tom is, by the look on his face, furious. The police officer notices that the door was unlocked and tells Lynette and Rick to be more careful and it looks like they are just looking for troubles.
Act II[]
Gabrielle and Victor are at the party and they are about to announce that Victor Lang is the new mayor of Fairview. Gabrielle hugs him like a little girl with her legs around his waist. Victor says thanks to everyone and especially to Gabrielle, his beautiful fiancée, and Jerome gives him a cell and tells him that Mayor Johnson is on the phone and he wants to concede. Jerome’s wife congratulates Gabrielle and Gabrielle tells her that this day ended a lot better than it started and tells her about a cop and the ticket. Jerome’s wife tells her that the days of dealing with that crap are over because she is not one of the little people anymore. She tells her about Sydney, Mayor Johnson’s wife collecting parking tickets and she just gives them to her husband and they disappear. She tells her that she rules the town now and Victor tells Gabrielle, after he approaches, that he is officially the mayor and if she would like to be the mayor’s wife.
Edie comes over to Carlos’ place and tells him that Charles is helping Travers pack. She tells him that she will miss him and Carlos will miss him too. Edie tells him that the weekend getaway could cheer them up. Carlos tells her that he is busy this weekend and Edie points out that they were about to go to the batting cages. Carlos tells her that that would have taken the couple of hours and he is swamped with work. Edie wants to know since when because he had been hanging out with Travers and her all day long. Carlos tells her that he had been putting off his work and now he needs to do it. Edie wants to know what that means for their relationship. Carlos kisses her and tells her that they will still see each other and he wants to go to the new oyster bar for her birthday and her birthday is two weeks from today. Carlos tells her that it will be his treat and Edie tells him that it is fine and she will be looking forward to it for the next 14 days. Carlos tells her not to let Travers go without saying goodbye to him first.
Susan is up in the mountains and she goes to some barrack that seems to be like the center or reception or whatever and she asks the guy to give her a map for Hot Springs because she wants to hike up there. He asks her if she has gear and she shows him her pink bag. He tells her that that is not gear because it is tiny and pink. She tells him that it is her daughters because junior high has them all. He wants to know if she has a compass, trail shoes, tents. She asks him why would she need a tent and he tells her that it is two days up to the Hot Springs. She wants to know if she can drive the part of the way and then just hike the rest and he tells her that those are not roads but trails. She tells him that she will be all right because she has quads of steel. He tells her that she can’t and she tells him that there is a man on that mountain that she wants to spend the rest of her life with and nobody will stop her to go up there alone and she will need a guide. He calls for Toni, a fat woman and she has quads of steel.
Rick and Tom are in some restaurant and he wants to talk with Rick. Tom points out that there is so much he doesn’t know about Rick. Rick asks him what does he want to know and Tom asks him if he is sleeping with Lynette. Rick tells him that if it is about the video he was just trying out the recipe and Tom tells him that he is not an idiot. Tom tells him that he and Lynette have been going through a rough time and Rick tells him that she told him about that and Tom points out that he came along as a perfect storm. Tom points out that Rick is young, good looking, sensitive and that is definitely funnier then five cranky kids and an invalid husband. Rick tells him that nothing has happened and Tom tells him that nothing is going to because he will quit. Rick tells him that if he wants him gone he can fire him. Tom tells him that he would like that to see Lynette fight for him while Tom is a jealous jerk who can’t trust his wife. Rick tells him that he is staying as long as Lynette wants him there and Lynette wants him there. Tom tells him that Lynette will never leave her family and Rick will catch her in a weak moment and he will leave a wound in her marriage that will never heal but it will eventually because Tom will stand by her and he will love her as much as she hates herself for what she did. Rick goes away.
Act III[]
Susan and Toni are hiking up a mountain. Susan is obviously just talking about Mike and she is talking about the coma situation and when he finally woke up he didn’t remember her. Toni asks her if she wants to rest and Susan tells her that she is fine. Susan's hair is caught into a bush and Toni is helping her so she can move on. Susan is still talking and saying that the situation with Mike seemed hopeless and then she decided to take a chance with Ian. Toni asks her if Ian is the British guy whose heart she broke and Susan tells her that he is. She asks Toni what would she have done and she tells her that she would have waited for Mike. She tells her that she did go back to Mike but he didn’t remember and then a bug goes into her mouth and she swallows it. Toni tells her that bugs can’t get in if she keeps her mouth shut.
Edie is holding a puppy and shows him to Travers. Travers is delighted and Edie tells him that it is all his and she rescued him from the pound. She asks him what he will call him and he will call him Fenway after Fenway Park. Edie tells him that that is so cute and everyone back home is going to be totally jealous. Travers tells her that he can’t take him home because dad is allergic. Edie tells Travers that she will have to take Fenway back to the pound and Travers doesn’t want her to. Travers asks her if he can keep it here and she tells him that he doesn’t visit very often and she can’t look after the dog all by herself. Travers asks her if he can visit here more. Edie tells him that both she and Carlos would love that but Charles won’t like the idea of joint custody. Travers tells her that he will talk with him and Edie tells him to make sure that it was all his idea.
Toni and Susan are around a camp fire and Toni tells her that they are three hours away from Hot Springs and if they have an early start tomorrow they will be there by lunch. Susan is about to put on a face mask and it is lavender and honey and Toni tells her that honey is a bear food. Toni asks her what she thinks will exactly happen with Mike and her. Susan tells her that she will first apologize and tell him that she made a huge mistake, but Toni wants to know after the happily ever after part and Susan tells her that they will just be happy. Toni makes a facial expression and Susan tells her that she can see her. Toni tells her that after hearing the whole story with Mike it doesn’t take a genius to figure out the problem. Susan is the problem because she is a drama junkie and when there is no drama she creates it. She sleeps with her ex-husband, she cheats on a coma victim and now she is hiking up a mountain for a guy who has no idea that she is coming. Toni tells her that maybe Mike will take her back but Susan doesn’t know how to just be happy. Susan asks her how dare she talk to her like that and Toni points out that it is so dramatic and she goes to sleep. It is morning, fire is out and Susan left a note:
“I don’t need anymore of your 'HELP'. I’ll find Mike on my own. You can carry my gear back down. Susan.”
Act IV[]
Gabrielle is with Vern and she is looking at her city and it seems different now that she is first lady of Fairview. She notices the same police officer that called her a "spoiled bitch" earlier in the episode, and Vern tells her to rub his nose with her newfound power. Gabrielle tells him that he is awful but as it happens so is she. She parks again near the hydrant and the police officer tells her that she can’t park there and Gabrielle tells him that she did. The police officer tells her that he remembers her and Gabrielle tells Vern to stand back and "enjoy the carnage". The policeman gives her a ticket but she rips it into little pieces. He tells her that he will give her another ticket for littering. She tells him that he might not want to because she is engaged to Victor Lang, his new boss and he simply tells her that he is not following politics. She tells the policeman that he answers to her now and she could have him fired. He tells her that she can do nothing and she tells him that she can do whatever she wants and her first official step as mayoress of Fairview is to declare today "free parking day". She starts ripping tickets from other cars in the area. The policeman grabs her wrist and she tells him that he is hurting her and she ends up kicking him in the balls. She tells him that that he will soon find out what happens when he screws the first lady of Fairview. As all of this is happening, a police car can be seen stopping at the area. Gabrielle is then seen in the police car and she is taken to jail.
Susan is looking on the map and she needs to go north. Moss grows on the north side of the tree but on every tree moss is all around it and Susan can’t orientate. She kicks the tree and hurts her ankle and then twists and falls.
Charles is back at Edie’s home and Travers hugs him and asks him how he would feel about joint custody. Charles freaks out and Edie tells him that she bought herself a puppy and she didn’t know that Travers gets so attached. Charles tells her that she is manipulating him and Edie tells him that she is also his mother and kids need both of their parents. Two weeks in a year and that is the way she wanted it but she simply tells Charles that she changed her mind. Charles tells her that they had an agreement and Edie tells him that it wasn’t official and there isn’t a judge in this world that would keep a child away from its mother. Travers is sitting in front of the house and Carlos asks him what is going on and he tells him that mom and dad are fighting. Carlos tells him to go watch TV at his house. Travers goes and Carlos tells him that he will be there in a second. Charles is out and he is still screaming at Edie and tells her that he will destroy her at the court and she tells him that she will go for full custody and slams the door. Carlos asks him what is going on and Charles tells him that she has been perfectly happy seeing him only two weeks a year and now she wants joint custody. Charles tells him that they live four hours away and Travers can’t go to two different schools. Charles tells Carlos that he doesn’t get it because Edie has been perfectly happy with their arrangement and he doesn’t know what has gotten into her.
Lynette says goodbye to her final customers of the nights and she is alone with Rick. She made him an espresso and asks him if he is all right because he has been silent lately. Rick tells her that he had lunch with Tom and Lynette tells him that Tom didn’t mention that. Rick tells her that he had asked him if he was sleeping with her and Lynette tells her that she is so sorry and she knew the moment he saw the surveillance tape he would misinterpret it. Rick asks her if he did misinterpret it and he comes clean. He tells her that he has feelings for her and he knows that she feels something for him. Lynette freaks out and Rick tells her that they had been flirting since they met and Lynette tells him that they were flirting and that is all. Lynette tells him that that is what married people do because they know that there is a line they don’t cross and she got close to that line and she enjoyed it but she never crossed it. Rick tells her that he doesn’t have too much to offer and she tells him that she has nothing to offer because she is taken and she throws the plate and breaks it. Rick asks her if he is mad at her and she tells him that she is because she loved their nights together because he made her feel sexy and happy and she needed that and now it is over because Rick ruined it. Lynette tells him that he can’t work here anymore. Rick is in shock and Lynette tells him that there is no other choice. Rick takes her hand and Lynette screams at him telling him not to touch her and tells him to go immediately.
Act V[]
Toni is back at the barracks and she looking with the receptionist at the map and she tells him that her name is Susan Mayer and shows him the last place they were together and she could be anywhere now. At that moment Mike walks in to leave his gear. Receptionist asks Toni if she is sure that she is lost and she tells him that she is because she is a dippy brunette from the suburbs and she is a total klutz. Mike walks out but he returns and asks them what the name of that klutz is.
It is night and Susan is all alone in the woods and she twisted her ankle. She calls Mike on the phone and leaves a message to his voice mail. She tells him that she knows that his cell is off but she just wanted him to know that she had followed him up the Hot Springs and tells him that she is lost. She tells him that there is a chance that she may get devoured by a mountain lion and she wants him to know that she loves him and that she had always loved him and she wants him to take her back and there will be no more drama. She starts to cry and tells him that if she gets eaten by a mountain lion that would be dramatic but it won’t be her fault and she just wants him to know how much she is (her phone goes off) sorry (she didn’t get to tell him that on his phone). She goes to sleep.
Jerome brings Gabrielle to Victor and tells him that he had taken care of it and it is like it never happened. Gabrielle tells Victor that he looks handsome in a tux and Victor tells Jerome to give them the room. Jerome walks away and now they are alone. Gabrielle tells him that she knows that he is mad but when he hears what the cop did to her and Victor tells her to shut up and if she is familiar with the quote: “From the one to whom much has been entrusted even more will be demanded.” Gabrielle tells him that it doesn’t ring a bell and he tells her that it is from the bible and she starts laughing and he yells at her telling her that it is not funny. He tells her that he has been elected mayor and she can’t go around assaulting city employees. Gabrielle tells him that he was mean and he deserved it and Victor tells her that he doesn’t care. He tells her that he can’t do his job if she is constantly humiliating him. Gabrielle tells him that she is not humiliating him and he tells her that she was jumping on him like a ten year old on an election party. Gabrielle thought that she liked that and he tells her that he does in private but not in public. She tells him that it won’t happen again and she goes to get dressed for the Victory party and she doesn’t want to be late. He notices the bruise on her wrist and she tells him that the cop has been rough and Victor tells her that he shouldn’t have done that.
Lynette is home early and she is in the room with Tom and tells him that it was dead tonight and they will need to find a new chef because Rick gave notice. Tom tells her that that is too bad (being ironic) and she tells him that he got a better offer from somewhere across the town. Tom tells her that he is coming back and he will just cook. Lynette tells him that that is OK then and she goes to the bathroom. She is in the bathroom and she starts the water so Tom can’t hear her crying. He tells her that he has been feeling like a jerk just laying useless here and he had missed her and she tells him that she had missed him too.
Act VI[]
Carlos visits Edie and he tells her that he heard about joint custody. She tells him that she hired a lawyer and Travers needs a mother in his life. Carlos asks her if she had thought how this would affect Travers with all the traveling back and forth and two schools, two sets of friends, it won’t be easy. Edie thought that he would be excited about this and he is but it won’t be good for Travers. Edie asks him if anyone ever asked Edie what she needs. Carlos tells her that he knows she misses him and she is afraid of being alone but he will be here for her. Edie tells him not to say that if he doesn’t mean that. Carlos tells her that he does mean that and he will be here for her all the time. She tells him that she will call off the lawyer and tells Carlos that she will really miss him and Carlos admits that he will too.
Epilogue[]
Jerome welcomes Victor Lang as the new mayor at his victory party and he calls Gabrielle for a dance. They dance and (two guys approach some fat guy and ask them if his name is Jeff Scott and if he read meters for living (that is the cop who got into fight with Gabrielle) and he tells them that he does and they start to beat him) he asks her if she knows how much he loves her and she tells him that she thinks so.
