Changes: Juanita "Mama" Solis

Juanita Solis, simply known by most as "Mama", was the mother of Carlos Solis. When she moved into the Solis house to act as a spy on Gaby, she discovered her affair with John Rowland, but was soon run over by a drunk Andrew.

Biography

Season 1

Juanita makes her first appearance in the season 1 episode "Come in, Stranger." It is soon discovered the reason for her visit is to confirm Carlos's suspicion of Gaby having an affair. It is also revealed that Gaby and Juanita have never gotten along. She had obtained photographic evidence of the affair moments before being accidentally run over

Juanitadeathscene — Juanita dies, and with no-one knowing the truth

by Andrew Van De Kamp. She remained in a coma for five months before awakening, only to fall to her death down a flight of stairs at the hospital. Before dying, Juanita told a nurse of Gabrielle’s infidelity; however, the nurse couldn’t hear her because she was wearing headphones and listening to loud music.

Season 5

Carlos and Gaby name their eldest daughter after her.

Season 6

Carlos tells Gabrielle that she doesn't make lasagna like his mother used to. Gabrielle expresses her anger that Mama never gave her the recipe, in which Carlos reminds her she was hit by a car.

Season 7

Juanita is seen in a flashback during Season Seven, when the show recaps on the events of Season One. And is the reason Bree and Carlos had fallen out since Bree confessed.

Season 8

Juanita is seen in a flashback scene that shows her reaction to Gabrielle as her and Carlos prepare to wed. She disapproves of Gaby's flashy desires and believes she's merely a "Golddigger." ("Women and Death")

Juanita's ghost watches Susan leave Wisteria Lane. ("Finishing the Hat")

When Susan Delfino decides to leave Wisteria Lane with her children, MJ Delfino and Julie Mayer, and granddaughter, Juanita's ghost appeared alongside George Williams and Mona Clarke, in front of 4362 Wisteria Lane, and they watched the family as they drove away from the lane and began their new lives together. ("Finishing the Hat")

Trivia

Gabrielle and Carlos named their eldest legal daughter after her.

While hospitalized in Sacred Heart Hospital, she was comatosed and contained in room 312.
